On stage in a closed theater, having open flame or pools of water may not seem like the best idea. However, careful application of lighting and custom gobos<\/a> can help a production achieve the same effects and astonish crowds.<\/p>\n

Using a projector with a gobo image<\/a> to represent water or fire can create the illusion of these elements onstage, creating a safe environment for the actors and audience but still presenting the necessary setting and props needed to fulfill the demands of the play. A lighting designer can generate the sense of fire or water through the combination of two rotating gobos , simulating live fire or moving water. With the right sound effects, the audience may not even know the difference.<\/p>\n
