3 ways to use gobos at sporting events

Gobos at sporting events provide both marketing and visual entertainment.

When you watch a sporting event, creative lighting displays are an important part of the overall experience. Spectators expect impressive halftime shows that combine a stunning light show with a live performance, but lighting is also crucial for effective marketing.

You may not be managing the theatrics at the Super Bowl or the World Cup, but that doesn’t mean you can’t create a show for your sporting event that will keep spectators glued to their seats. Here are three ways that gobos at sporting events can create a stunning visual experience and please your sponsors:

  • Project team logos around the arena: Arenas are the perfect setting for a gobo because you have a great deal of control over ambient light. Rather than hanging banners or signs with the team names, use a gobo image projector to display the artwork on the walls or court.
  • Promote the event with architectural gobos: Are you trying to drum up support and enthusiasm for the event? You can get the attention you need by projecting gobo images on the sides of the arena building or nearby structures prior to the game.
  • Use your gobo projector to advertise sponsors: You can entice other companies to sponsor your event by providing them with space to project a gobo with their logo and website. Offer prime marketing space on the floor of the stadium or on billboard space around the arena’s perimeter.
  • Create stunning lighting displays: A 3D prism lens can create moving images that appear to jump out at the viewer for a mesmerizing effect. Project rotating logos or a team mascot on the stadium floor or field with the large-scale GOLUX projector.
