Clay Paky gobos used for Abolsut New York City event

At the launch of its Nights by Absolut "high-volume, high-energy twist on the club scene," the vodka maker used Clay Paky gobo lights and consoles to transform the New York skyline. Hosted at the Pier 9 Container Terminal in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Absolut turned the area into a dazzling nightclub for a single night. The gobo lights were used to create the silhouette of a massive vodka bottle backdropped by the city skyline.

The silhouette used 156 Clay Paky gobos, standing 85 feet tall. The lighting design was done by DMDS7tudios, out of Miami, Florida.

"The goal for the design team was to bring a very progressive brand like Absolut to the forefront of the technology movement, and there is no other effect or lighting fixture on the market currently that has so many options and so much power as the B-EYE," Scott Chmielewski, principal of DMDS7tudios, told Live Design. "There is literally nothing like the look of the B-EYE out there and, with the fixture's latest software, options have expanded dramatically. The ability of the B-EYE to change from a very powerful and bright wash light to an effects-filled fixture made it an obvious choice for this project."
