Who says business meetings have to be boring?

The annual Honda Dealers Meeting kicked off with a bang using projection mapping, gobo images and lighting design to highlight some of the brands coming technologies through a live theatrical event. According to Live Design, the event was designed by Martin Brinkerhoff Associates, who have done a wide variety of events and performances, including the 2012 IAAPA award-winning Disney Dreams in Paris.

"Honda has long been known for its clean, safe, and fun products. It is also a technological innovator across many platforms (automotive, motorcycle, power equipment, jets, and robotics)," Noted Brinkerhoff in a guest post for the news source. "So when the manufacturer requested that this year's meeting embody the youthful fun and the technologically advanced aspects of its brand, our creative wheels began to turn. Originally inspired by the TED Talks series, the idea was to bring the series' technology, entertainment, and design concepts to life on the live stage."

Notably, the firm used live motion-tracking gobos and projection mapping to turn a stereoscopic 3D performance into a "5D" virtual reality adventure for attendees. This was accomplished using a blend of rear-projected stereoscopic 3D nested within a front projection-mapped dimensional set and an array of video projectors, blending CGI with scenic design, motion graphics, choreography and lighting.

While this demonstrates a rather advances use of gobo lights, any business can utilize custom designs and images to add a flair to their corporate events and meetings, using their brand logo and other ideas to engage attendees and really sell their name and image in a new light.
